Clearly visible house numbers are vitally important in saving precious minutes when emergency personnel must respond to an emergency at your or your neighbor’s house. If in doubt about your house numbers, drive by your house and look for your numbers. If you cannot quickly find them, chances are neither can emergency personnel.

An application is not required if the following criteria are met:

Numerals must be Arabic numerals in plain, block style.
The color of the numerals is black.
Numerals must be at least 3 inches high and no larger than 5 inches high.
Numerals must face the street named in an address.
Numerals must be clearly visible from the street.
Numerals must be attached to the front porch, front door trim, garage trim, or within three (3) feet of the front door.
An application is required for all other house numbers including house numbers on plaques.

Application Requirements:

Submit a site plan (plat) showing the proposed location of the numbers, a detailed drawing or picture of the proposed installation with color, materials, size and style of numbers indicated, and any additional information that might be helpful in the review of the application.
